BBC’s Director-General confirms instant video on-demand store is coming – Engadget. Clever, clever, clever. BBC has some incredible hits shows, Ive bought entire DVD series of Attenboroughs Nature Programmes, then theres Top Gear etc etc. So if you take the DVD productions costs out of the equation you can deliver a lower cost – on demand for purchase system. Brilliant! Is BBC the first to pioneer this? Hardly, but coming from one of the most accomplished and reputable broadcasters in the world – this is a big deal.
