FiLMiC Pro v2.9 Gets Even More Professional — AppAdvice.
If you are a regular reader of the blog then you’ll know I’m a huge fan of the team at FilMic Pro. I tried several different camera solutions for video when building my Mobile Journalist workflow (Almost DSLR, Video Camera, Camcorder,VideoZoom2 to name but a few) but the most intuitive and functional I tried was FilmicPro and every story I’ve shot since has been recorded using FilMicPro.
In the last few days FilMic Pro Version 2.9 has been released and its got some great new features…
New Features include :
540p widescreen mode shooting.
Save your configuration settings
New frame rates (1-60fps) for capture and output
New FilMic Extreme 50Mbps record mode
and 2 new iFrame modes
Hard to make something as good as FilMicPro better – but they have.

I’m on the latest version of FiLMiC Pro (2.9.6) but I’m not seeing these options – I was particularly interested in the variable capture and output frame rates up to 60fps and I don’t see the 540p widescreen mode either. Am I the only one, or has the FiLMiC Pro app been rolled back?
No it’s not just you David. You are 100% correct. FilMicPro was released but rolled back not long after due to an issue with iPad 2/3 crashing on launch. They replied to a tweet about it and a fix is in the pipeline. G
