Sony Action Cam | Mountable Full HD Action Camcorder | Sony USA.
Sony have decided to get in on the action sports camera scene with the launch of their Action Cam.
The camera, like its GoPro, DriftHD, Contour, JVC (to name but a few) competitors shoots in 1080p, it also offers either HD Slow 4x (1280×720, 120p) or HD Slow 2x (1280×720, 60p). For more traditional shooting, it also shoots in Full HD (1920×1080, 30p), STD HD (1280×720, 30p) and SD VGA (640×480, 30p) There are two versions the basic and the WiFi. Basic price is $199 and the Wifi is $269 approx. According to the sony Website the Action camera is expected to start shipping around 21st September. The pricepoint is interesting as it is substantially below the GoPro equivalent.
