In the year of the e-book, 5 lessons from — and for — news organizations | Poynter.. About 4 years ago I saw the first and in my opinion effective ebook/emag. It was published by Ceros.com and I was really psyched about its potential for broadcasters. You see a dumb ebook (a pdf version of a print edition) is of no interest to me – what interests me is that broadcasters have a huge archive resource at their disposal and when someone goes to the trouble of writing a book it seems a bloody shame to limit the reference material in it to just photographs when in fact video, audio and interactivity can all be included. It would now appear that broadcasters – certainly in the US anyway – are getting their heads around this potential.
