Q: What do you get if you cross a Gopro like cam with a ZoomH2 like mic? A: The Sony HDR-MV1

Sony alters point of view with new-concept video cameras | TechHive.

Following hot on the heels of the launch of Sonys Qx Lens system for smartphones (which I blogged about recently) Sony has also “re-imagined” a pocket camcorder but with musicians at heart. The HDR-MV1 is a pocketable camera that shoots HD Video (1080p/30fps) with a 1/2.3 CMOS Sensor and Carl Zeiss 120degree wide angle lens, but it also has a Stereo XY Microphone system built in (similar to Zoom H2/H4n or Rode iXY) The mic records Linear PCM Audio at 16bit/48KHz. The device pairs with a smartphone (Vi Wifi NFC) and is controlled/monitored through the Sony PlayMemories Mobile App -the same App that controls the Qx Lenses. The HDR-MV1 is due for release on November and expected RRP is $300. See the full source article via TechHive.com here or click the link at the top or the image.
